ICAO Flight Instructor License Course

A flight instructor is a person who teaches others to fly aircraft. Specific privileges granted to holders of a flight instructor qualification vary from country to country, but very generally, a flight instructor serves to enhance or evaluate the knowledge and skill level of an aviator in pursuit of a higher pilot's license, certificate or rating.

Certain limitations are placed on the instruction a flight instructor may give; for example, flight instructors wishing to train applicants for a flight instructor certificate must have held their own flight instructor certificate for at least 24 months and given at least 200 hours of instruction. Specific training programs have additional requirements or limitations.

We are projecting for every student to fly a minimum of 2 hours per day. Sometimes more. The actual program duration, from CFI license to PPL or CPL pilot will be 4 weeks and consist of the following 3 stages and ratings:

Stage 1 Certified Flight Instructor, single-engine airplane (CFI)

	4 weeks, where
		2 week of theoretical training
		2 week of practical flight training

Stage 2 Certified Flight Instructor, airplane instrument (CFII)

	2 weeks, where
		1 week of theoretical training
		1 week of practical flight training

Stage 3 Certified Flight Instructor, multi-engine airplane (MEI)

	2 weeks, where
		1 week of theoretical training
		1 week of practical flight training

Theoretical Training

The FAA regulations do not specify minimum required classroom time for candidates who want to obtain this certification.

Stage 1 CFI

	60 hours, of which
		40 hours of classroom lectures
		20 hours of pre- and post-flight briefings

Stage 2 CFII

	30 hours, of which
		20 hours of classroom lectures
		10 hours of pre- and post-flight briefings

Stage 3 MEI

	40 hours, of which
		20 hours of classroom lectures
		20 hours of pre- and post-flight briefings

Practical Training

Stage 1 CFI

	26 hours, of which
		5 hours dual in C152 (PIC)
		20 hours dual in Piper Arrow (PIC)
		1 hour FAA check-ride

Stage 2 CFII

	11 hours, of which
		10 hours dual (PIC)
		1 hour check-ride (PIC)

Stage 3 MEI

	14 hours, of which
		13 hours dual (PIC)
		1 hour check-ride (PIC)

The Academic segment of the theoretical training is an important factor for those students who are planning on advancing their education to an Associate or a Bachelor's level.

The listed above academic courses and their respective credit hour ratings may be converted into any college or university accreditation scale using the standard European Academic Credit Transfer System.

Please note: all academic credits are approximate and subject to admissions board review and evaluation by the target college or university. Normally, the level of education and practicum upon completion of the training and internship phases equals to Associate Degree in Aeronautical science. Hence, most pilots are able to obtain a full Bachelor's Degree in just 2 years after transferring the academic credits.

Accommodation is not included in the CFI course cost. Student may need to consider booking accommodation for at least 3 months. Accommodation options are available on and off campus.
