for International Students

Every year, thousands of students worldwide apply for loans and scholarships to help pay for their pilot training. Getting the money for this training can be tough, and students usually have to explore different options like loans, sponsorships, and scholarships. Aerocadet is one of the very few companies in the U.S. that offers scholarships based on performance to international students who want to train to become pilots.

The Aerocadet Flight Training scholarship program is awarded annually to three of the top performing applicants who meet or exceed the following "Phase 1" requirements:

The applicants have to be foreign citizens, from the "developing countries" and should be able to demonstrate "need" for the financial support through the interview process and document review. Applicants who have met all the aforementioned requirements of "Phase 1" will be invited to proceed to "Phase 2".

The application windonw is open annually, from May until June, and the winners are announced on August 25th, so that they can apply for the fall semester admission with multiple universities and flight schools in the United States and Canada. The grant is valid for one year and will have to be used within this time-frame.

The Aerocadet Flight Training scholarship program is awarded annually to the best-performing applicants who meet and surpass the following "Phase 1" requirements:

Applicants must be citizens of developing countries and will need to demonstrate a financial need (lack of funding) through an interview and document review. Those who meet these criteria must fill out and submit the Aerocadet Flight Training Scholarship Application Form to complete "Phase 1." During this phase, they must upload all required documents for review. Once their documents are reviewed and verified, they will be invited to "Phase 2."

Please note: the process of verifying academic certificates, grades, reference letters and criminal background check can take up to two months. Please keep this timeline in mind when applying.

Phase 2 is administered by Aerocadet, also free of charge. The applicants will have to pass the following stages in order to qualify for the scholarship:

The Motivation and Career Goals interview will last 15-20 minutes and will be conducted by one of Aerocadet's consultants, who is an active airline pilot in the US. This interview gives candidates a chance to discuss their career ambitions and motivation for becoming an airline pilot, as well as to seek advice on achieving their goals cost-effectively.

Applicants must also pass two basic tests on spatial orientation and reasoning. These tests, provided by Seliant Employee Selection Service online testing software, will each take no more than 20 minutes to complete and are administered online. The results will be sent to Aerocadet immediately after completion.

Scholarship awards are announced on August 25th, annually. The awarded applicants will be published on our website and notified in person, with an official award PDF attached. In addition to the award, the applicants will be sent a free SLAS package ($700.00 USD value), which will include conditional Aerocadet admission acceptance letter, a conditional guaranteed employment offer from our partner, Global Air BVI Inc, and a loan petition letter from our company.

Additional Terms & Conditions

Aerocadet receives numerous scholarship applications each year but awards only the top three candidates with $5,000 each. The scholarship grant can only be used for professional flight training programs in the United States or Canada. Flight training programs do not have to be conducted by Aerocadet, and can be conducted by any flight training institution in the United States and Canada. The flight training programs can not be solely for leisure purposes (PPL license), but must lead to a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certification, and must including a guaranteed post-graduation internship either in the United States or Canada. Such programs can be conducted under a U.S. F-1 visa or a Canadian Student Permit. Aerocadet pays the scholarship grant funds directly to the flight training provider at any stage of the training as directed by the student. The scholarship can also serve as a partial proof of financing when applying for a student visa in the U.S. or Canada.

Please note: Flight training candidates usually need to show proof of funding when applying for admission to a professional flight training program and a student visa. U.S. and Canadian consulates require this proof of funding, which can include personal savings, parental funds, a student loan approval letter from a bank, or a scholarship grant letter, to cover education and living expenses.
