Got a question? Hang on, maybe we got an answer for you right here!
Need tuition financing? We have several options for you!
Let's talk about the student loans
It's the age-old problem for anyone interested in pilot training... "How can I get money for flight training?" At Aerocadet, we've been connecting prospective pilots with flight schools since 2012, and this question is always at the top of the list for anyone wanting to learn to fly, whether for a career, commuting, traveling or just for fun. In the past few years, we've seen several major sources of money for flight training completely dry up. But have no fear, pilot-to-be, there are still many ways to find money for flight training.
The easiest way to get a US loan for international students
Applicants can obtain student loans to cover up to 100% of tuition fees if they have a guarantor (co-signer) based in the United States. Such guarantor may be a close relative, friend, etc, and he/she must be a US citizen or, at the very least, a permanent US resident with an established credit history. The co-signer must be employed and residing at a permanent address.
In order for us to qualify you for this option, we will need you to request your cosigner to email us a letter contacting his/her information, including the following mandatory details:
Once we review your cosigner’s details and make a contact to confirm all the information we will send you follow up instructions with the loan application authorization confirmation. You and your cosigner will be required to fill out a Sallie Mae online application form and digitally sign it in order to proceed with the loan application process.
If you decide to process with this application, please follow steps outline below (start from Step 1)
Student Loan Provider
The provider of student loans for the international students is Sallie Mae. Sallie Mae offers private student loans for international students who are attending an eligible U.S. college or university. Our FTP is Florida qualifies as such.
Eligibility Criteria
International students require a credit worthy cosigner who is a US citizen or Permanent Resident. International students do not need a Social Security Number to apply. Loan eligibility varies by loan type you're applying for.
Additional Information
If your permanent home address is an international address, then a temporary / in-school US address will be required on the application. If you do not yet have a temporary US address, you can enter your school's address on your application. Please update us with your new US address as soon as you have it.
You may need to send us a copy of your passport and one of the following documents for loan approval. We will notify you when we need them during the application process.
A real possibility of obtaining student loans with our support paperwork from your own bank
If you do not have a U.S.-based co-signer, we can offer you a special administrative support to solicit a student loan or an academic/career development sponsorship in their own country.
If you are looking to solicit for a student loan or scholarship from the local financial or government institution in your country, we can qualify you for a special SLBAS package (Student Loan Bank Application Support Package) contacting the following documents required by a bank in order to consider your application for a student loan:
The entire support package will be executed on our (and our third-party provider's) headed paper, with seals and signatures. As a bonus, we will also send you an Aerocadet lanyard for your student pilot IDs.
Student Loan Provider
You, as a candidate, must understand that the choice of loan provider, as well as the actual loan application or sponsorship solicitation strategy is entirely up to you. However, we do recommend approaching local banks with the full packet confirming your eligibility for enrollment and post-graduation conditional guarantees of well-paid employment. Normally, banks require a proof that they are lending to a legible and academically capable student who would not have any issues paying back the loan after graduation. This is why our support pack is so important: it settles the bank's concerns and confirms your eligibility.
Eligibility Criteria
International students applying for a domestic loan in their country must be able to demonstrate high level of English command, hold a certificate of secondary education (or higher), show fair academic matriculation scores (or higher), and take the online assessment test.
Indian Applicants
For Indian applicants, we recommend that you contact our Indian program consultant for more details on the banks that are accepting student loan applications for our Pro-Pilot programs. We do have dozens of active student who have successfully obtained student loans from the local banks in India using Aerocadet's SLBAS package
Ready to qualify? It is fast and easy!
In order for us to evaluate your suitability and guarantee your employment placement after graduation from our flight training and internship program, we need to ensure that your academic documents are valid and equivalent to the US standard of full secondary education. To do so, we need to pay an external agency to translate, evaluate and verify your documents. We also need to pay for your pilot aptitude assessment test. Finally, we will need to pay a premier courier service (we use FedEx) to send you the required support package. To cover the administrative costs associated with these expenses, we require you to pay the initial enrollment deposit of $575 USD. This deposit can be paid either by using a credit/debit card, PayPal account or, by request, via a direct bank transfer, and it will be collected during the second stage of your qualification process (see stages below).
Step 1 | You will need to fill out a full enrollment application form and upload your current documents (at least passport and certificate of secondary education is required to complete the application). The enrollment form is located here >>> |
Step 2 | After you have completed the full enrollment form, you will need to take a short pilot aptitude assessment test designed especially for determining preliminary job suitability for airline pilots. The test can be taken only after you submitted your full enrollment form and paid the financial support package admin processing fee of $575 USD. Please fill out a short Student Loan Bank Application Support Package form here >>> |
Step 3 | After you have paid the $575 financial support package admin processing fee, you will need to take a short pilot aptitude assessment test designed especially for determining preliminary job suitability for airline pilots. An email from Revelian.com containing a personalized link to the aptitude test will be sent to you within 24 hours after the financial support package admin fee payment was paid. We use Revelian Express Candidate Assessment software for this test. Please note: the results of this test will not affect your enrollment eligibility status. The test results are collected and analyzed by our training department in order to provide the most affective flight training and employment placement curriculum which will be optimal for your needs and abilities. |
Step 4 | Once we receive the test results, it will take us 1-2 weeks to process the paperwork with the external agency (we use J.Silny & Associated Academic Credentials Evaluations). Please note that we do not sponsor applicants and we do not provide academic scholarships. However, applicants can obtain student loans to cover up to 100% of tuition fees if (and ONLY if) they have a guarantor (co-signer) based in the United States. Such guarantor may be a close relative, friend, etc, and must be a permanent US resident or a US citizen.
Finding a co-signer is a highly personal and private matter, which is normally provided by your close relatives or long-term friends. You are, effectively, asking them to repay your loan of $70,000 in case you decide not, or unable to pay. So, none of our staff, our management, or myself personally, can help you with this arrangement.
The package will include the following documents: a letter confirming the suitability of your candidacy for flight training at our Full Professional Airline Pilot Program, a special flight training suitability card (issued to you after taking the Online assessment), validate your enrollment status, provide an offer of paid internship and a conditional guarantee of subsequent employment placement with the airlines. Our support pack will also include such bonus items as Aerocadet pilot lanyard.
