Flight training in the USA or Canada is an attractive prospect for many aspiring pilots worldwide, promising lucrative careers and opportunities for global travel. However, for Indian flight students, financing this training can pose significant challenges, often turning a dream into a complex financial puzzle.
Flight training is fairly expensive. The cost for a private pilot license can range from $8,000 to $15,000, while obtaining a commercial pilot license and additional certifications can escalate the total to between $60,000 and $100,000 or more. For Indian flight students, these costs can be prohibitive, particularly when considering the additional expenses of living abroad, health insurance, and travel.
In many countries, financial aid and student loans are more readily available to citizens and permanent residents than to international students. Many foreign students find themselves excluded from government-sponsored financial aid programs and loans that could help cover the high costs of flight training. While some flight schools offer scholarships and financing options, these are often limited in number and competitive.
The pursuit of education abroad opens up avenues for personal and professional growth, but the financial challenges associated with it can be daunting. Recognizing this, Aerocadet is delighted to announce its administrative support for students seeking financial aid from their respective banks and financial institutions. Through conditional employment offer letters and training bond contracts, Aerocadet is dedicated to assisting students in navigating the complex landscape of education financing.
For the Indian students who are unable to pay for their flight training program, there is an option to take out a student loan from local bank/s and pay it back later. This system is used by 75% of our students from India.
To facilitate a streamlined student loan application process, we offer a special administrative support package called SLAS (Student Loan Application Support) . This highly comprehensive package will help you solicit a student loan or scholarship from local financial or government institutions in your own country.

Can I get a full or partial scholarship? Yes, you can.
Unlike academic scholarships for traditional educational programs, there are no widely available “flight training scholarships” for pilot training in North America, Europe, or other developed countries. This distinction arises from the fundamental differences between traditional academic studies and flight training.
Academic scholarships are typically offered by large colleges and universities to a small fraction of their top-performing students. These scholarships are not costly to the academic institutions, as they can accommodate a few additional students at minimal extra expense. For example, a university conducting a lecture class for one hundred paying students can easily admit an extra ten students (10%) to the class without substantial additional cost.
In stark contrast, flight training is highly personalized activity and demands extensive one-on-one flight instruction with each student. It can not be done in a classroom, and the schools can not fit an extra 10% of students inside a 2-seater training aircraft. Flight training involves the use of expensive equipment, such as flight simulators, FTDs, aircraft, fuel, and more. In other words, the nature of flight training necessitates individualized instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs. Thus, aviation schools, colleges, and universities cannot afford to provide free flight training programs on scholarship to either local or international students.
